Himalayan 18 Day Adventure – Overlander Expedition
Starting from Nevermind HQ in the historical and buzzing Old Delhi we take the all-new Nevermind Mobile to a secret location out of Delhi for the night where our bikes will be eagerly awaiting our arrival. This funky little Himalayan village is home to thousands of Tibetan refugees and the Dalai Lama himself. After a quick ceremony the next morning to ensure safe passage through the Himalayas we depart deep into the interior of the Himalayas. Heading northeast through some of the most remote villages of Himachal Pradesh to Khajjiar, the Switzerland of India.
The next day gets unbelievable as we ride the Sach pass into Kashmir and without doubt the most beautiful mountain riding in the world. It is remote and untamed but it is stunning.
We stay at Kistwar and Srinagar then head east into the stunning Zanskar valley and Ladakh. Grab a Yak Cheese Pizza at Leh and then ride Kardungla, officially the worlds highest road.
After the high altitude thrills of Leh Ladakh ride south through lost and ancient village of Tsokar, Jispa and into the isolated and mind-blowing Spiti Valley. Battle the Spiti’s high altitude river crossings, glaciers, and rock-strewn tracks all the way to the Tibetan border.
Ride the switchbacks from Nako into the Kinnaur Valley and stunning Sangla Valley. Then just when you though you could take no more a final surprise secret mountain pass on the last days of the ride into Manali.
You will not only be pushed to your limits by the altitude, freezing cold, glaciers, river crossings, sheer 1000 metre drops and narrow and boulder strewn goat tracks, but you will also battle your inner demons and face your darkest fears.
Only one who has ridden the secret passes of the Himalaya can truly understand the immensity of that statement.
